Traditional Child Games To Revive in Maltepe

Our project mainly targets at bringing traditional but, unfortunately, almost extinct child game rituals, rules, expressions, toys,  and tales to light by setting up an international children’s game village in association with field experts and well-known scholars from education and anthropology disciplines. An extended project report consisting 29 pages was presented in 2015 to the Turkish National Comission of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) and, in correspondence, the Turkish National Comission offered both advisory and logo support to these project activities. At the end of 2016, Maltepe Municipality acknowledged to undertake accommodation and infrastructural works of the child games village. For the time being, Maltepe District Governorship continues to seek financial resource for scholarly visits to Middle-East countries so after that the first child games village in Turkey would be built up in the Maltepe district, based on international research and development activities.
